Vista System Gives Hospitals Signage Facelifts

Crawford Signs & Graphics installed Vista Square directories at the Premier Physicians offices in Westlake, Ohio. The client specified that change of graphics in these directories is key for their choice of signage system, as doctors and medical staff are constantly changing rooms and schedules.

Although Vista directories are usually supplied with the right kind of spacers between the lenses, customer demands and specific sizes called for a more creative solution. ‘I used custom made spacers, of 0.6 aluminium and 0.02 high bond tape to account for the slight differences in width of central panels,’ said Bruce Crawford, Crawford Signs & Graphics.

Four such directories were installed and the staff use their laser printer to print and insert the correct graphics, showing room number and staff member name.

Vista System double sided projecting signs were also installed in the Gold Coast University Hospital in Australia. The entire project of replacing 140 signs in various hospital wards and hallways was done by Kiss Graphics Group, who also created the clean, aesthetic graphics.

‘The client needed a better wayfinding system than the previous one. They have made it clear that although sleek, clean lines were necessary, interchangeable signage system would be a ‘make it or break it’ issue’.

WBSB Projecting signs were chosen as they are double sided, take paper inserts, users can easily print and replace graphics on the spot, they have aluminium end caps and easy to install bases. The entire refurbishment took four weeks from start to finish, including installation and graphics.
