At the recent Graphics, Print and Sign expo, Lyn van den Berg from Trotec Laser South Africa presented a full outline of the newly launched R400 laser cutter and engraver, providing a list of its benefits for users, from a sturdy design and build to the machine’s versatile functionalities.
Cork was used to create coasters, which were cut to shape with patterns engraved on the material. The final product’s very few burn marks demonstrated the machine’s efficiency simply by configuring the power setting accurately. The presentation also demonstrated the user-friendly plug-and-play feature, along with its large working space, focus tool and different power supply strengths.
A bonus for users is that Trotec can tailor the machine according to the customer’s requirements in terms of power supply and accessories, and can supply a wide range of different materials and engraving consumables which have been developed for laser cutting and engraving.
All moving parts on the table, such as the belts and bearings, are protected from dust and particles with the company’s patented Raypack technology. The machine has a ‘big brother’, the R500, which comes with a larger working space. The affordable laser cutter is ideal for the cutting and engraving of acrylics up to 15mm, wood, textiles, paper and more. The R400 laser cutter is equipped with high quality components. The demonstration concluded with a presentation of Trotec’s revolutionary new Ruby software for the Trotec Speedy series, which enables a remote set-up of design, on multiple computers, and simply needs an operator to supervise the cutting and engraving of the material after receiving the artwork.
