Darryl Braithwaite from Midcomp discussed the benefits that the recently launched HP Latex 800W printer offers users at the recent Graphics, Print and Sign expo.
The machine comes in four different variations: 700, 800, 700W and 800W. Troubleshooting was undertaken during the design phase of the machine, with issues such as heat problems and media cockling having been alleviated.
The 700 version features one litre ink boxes while the 800 features three litres. The ‘W’ versions features white ink printing capabilities, which according to Braithwaite is the most opaque white ink on the market.
Midcomp’s Pay Per Use system is available for the 700 and 800 models with differing prices – which covers CMYK+, optimiser and cartridges, but not yet for the W models, as the PPU does not include white inks, overcoats or printheads, and because white inks come in different densities.
Braithwaite also said that interested clients should book a demonstration at the iHub, the company’s demonstration centre in Gauteng. For those who live outside of Gauteng, live online demonstrations can also be arranged.
