Mint Wrapworks recently wrapped a Mastercraft wake surfing boat with HEXIS Skintac material. According to Mint Wrapworks director Mathew Wilkinson, all edges were marine sealed to ensure this wrap is safe in the water.
‘On boats, the biggest issue you face is getting the design to fall correctly on the hull. There is a bend in the hull as well as a twist, so placement is always the main focus, and probably the biggest challenge. You always want to ensure that both sides of the boat fall exactly the same to be able to deliver a better-than-factory finish on the wrap.’
‘The placement of the wrap is far easier than it was in the past because of modern vinyl technology. We are able to lift and slide the panel around without worrying about it tacking, and this allows for a clean quick placement process.’
‘We chose HEXIS Skintac as it is a premium wrapping film. It is also thicker than most cast vinyls on the market so this helps from a durability perspective, especially on boats. The other reason why we also chose the HEXIS Saturn White Gloss is because of its beautiful metallic white finish. Pair this with our HP Latex machine and you have a fully custom print with this beautiful metallic glitter-like finish. It really looks like an airbrushed full custom paint job on any application.’
