Channel letters are easier to make and more popular than ever before. If you are looking for ways to visually differentiate your client’s products or brands and to grab attention, 3D channel letters is the best option. Over the past decade, only a few signage companies have been manufacturing 3D channel letters, but now you can see more and more 3D channel letters being used in malls, because the price of machines and a materials have decreased.
The V3 Channel Letter machine from Exion Corporation can produce various types of channel letters at 10-15 mins per letter, depending on the size and complexity of the font of the letter.
Bruce Badenhorst of Exion Corporation said, 'Full automated cutting machines are convenient but far too expensive. So the V3 can be a better solution for small and medium size sign companies, as it is affordable, easy to operate, user friendly and requires a low level of maintenance.
'It is extremely exciting and rewarding to see our clients producing creative channel letters in all sizes while significantly reducing lead time and labour cost.'

ADVANTAGES OF CHANNEL LETTERS WHEN USING ALUMINIUM
1. SPEED
Due to the softness of the aluminium, it can be bent by hand. A letter in a standard straightforward font can be finished within 10 minutes by a skilled worker and 20 minutes by a beginner. This speed will save the company on labour costs as well as increase customer satisfaction.
2. MATERIAL COSTS COME DOWN
Acrylic fabricated channel letters cost more than aluminium in terms of time and labour. Exion estimates that the trim, ACM backing, and polycarbonate facing for aluminium is up to 20% cheaper than acrylic. You will also save electricity, because unlike acrylic, aluminium doesn't require heating.
3. STRONG BUT LIGHT AND NEAT
As aluminium does not expand and contract like acrylic does in the harsh African climate, it is much more durable. On the aluminium return and Trim, there are grooves that the ACM and faces fit into, making the letter stronger and more durable. Fixing the ACM backing to the return using 4mm nails, not glue, makes it faster to manufacture and it looks nice and neat.
4. EASY AND FAST TO QUOTE
Many signage companies struggle with quotes for these letters. When quoting on channel lettering, you are not sure of the costs of the aluminium returns, trims and LED’s. This can delay quotes and possibly lead to the loss of contracts. The software provided with the V3 machine provides the quantities of materials (Return, Trim and LED’s) saving you time and helping to provide an accurate quote. This gives you peace of mind knowing what your actual cost will be.
PUSH YOURSELF BEFORE THE INDUSTRY CHANGES
'Push Yourself' is the act of stepping outside of your comfort zone to stir and cultivate a movement that changes the world. If everyone pushed themselves to do more, the world would be a better place,' said Jay Kim, Exion Corporation. 'One person or company going above and beyond can be infectious to those around them, creating a ripple effect of positive and uplifting actions. 'Push Yourself' is not just a movement; it's a way of life. We now live in an era of extremely fast-changing industries, including the signage industry. In this day and age, we need to adapt and change with the times or be left behind.'
