Roland will debut its first flatbed at the Sign and Digital UK show, taking place in Birmigham from 29 April-1 May 2014. The VersaUV LEJ-640F has a bed size of 1.6m x up to 3.3m and can print onto substrates up to 15cm thick.
It uses the latest generation UV-LED lamps, designed to cure Roland Eco-UV ink, and comes in three ink configurations: CMYK+White+Clear ink, CMYK+White+White and CMYK+Gloss+Gloss.
The printer comes in three model types, depending on the bed size: the LEJ-640 F210 (printing area of 1.6m x 2.1m); LEJ-640 F250 (printing area of 1.6m x 2.5m) and LEJ-640 F320 (printing area of 1.6m x 3.3m).
According to the machine specifications, the UV-LED lamps automatically reposition themselves for optimum image quality in each print mode. A fully automated built-in sensor determines the relevant printhead height for each job. Print quality is up to 1440 x 1440dpi on substrates weighing up to 200kg.
The devices are supplied with VersaWorks Rip software specially designed for Roland inkjet technology.
