Rexx Screen and Digital Supplies recently installed a Vastex carousel at Ink Republic in Bloemfontein. Although based in a different sector, the Ink Republic owners have an evening and weekend business in promotional items run from home.
Ink Republic owners Karmyn and Lamour Koen based their decision to purchase the machine on extensive international research. Until recently, they were outsourcing all screen printing work, mainly doing lanyards, mugs and flex transfers onto T-shirts and caps.
Mustapha Jacobs from Rexx Screen and Digital supplies arranged for installation and training, which involved setting up the carousel, flash dryer and levelling of boards; screen cleaning and exposing of screens, fine tuning and adjustments on the carousel, the printing and mixing of inks, as well as specialities such as foiling.
Jacobs explained that the owners wanted a hands on approach: ‘They wanted to do everything themselves so they know that their customers get the product that they want.’
The Vastex owners thanked Jacobs and the company for sharing the training, tips and knowledge, and believe this is the start of a long relationship.
