MUTOH Europe will preview the new XpertJet 1682UR. It is MUTOH’s first roll-to-roll UV LED printer based on the award-winning XpertJet printer platform. This dual-headed 162cm (64 inch) wide printer uses MUTOH’s environmentally friendly SVHC1 free US61 series inks, available in C, M, Y, K, White and Varnish 800ml ink packs.
The machine will be previewed at drupa, being held in Düsseldorf from May 28 – June 7. The XPJ-1682UR, featuring two 8-channel monoblock 1440 nozzle print heads in a staggered setup and two UV LED lamps, achieves print resolutions up to 1440 x 1440dpi. Unlike other UV LED printers, it can produce five-layer graphics without media pull back, ensuring impeccable print results.
The machine offers enhanced user comfort with multiple automated calibrations, including bi-directional alignment, media feed adjustment, remaining media tracking and a nozzle area select feature which detects and compensates for missing nozzles. These features will increase efficiency and reduce waste.
MUTOH will also showcase its award-winning XpertJet SR PRO 137cm (54”) and 162cm (64”) sign and display printers, along with the GREENGUARD Gold certified, gBL-free MS51 sign and display inks, which do not require health and safety pictograms, underlining its ongoing commitment to sustainability as well as safer work environments.
For direct-to-shape applications, MUTOH will be presenting the XpertJet 661UF A2+ sized desktop 6 colour (C, M, Y, K, Wh, Va) UV LED direct to object printer, printing directly onto objects up to 15cm and the new XpertJet 1462UF A1+ sized high productivity 6colour flatbed printer with moving gantry, offering an impressive 1420 x 720mm table size. Printing onto objects up to 15cm, the XPJ-1462UF is powered by MUTOH’s US61 series SVHC free inks.
For direct-to-substrate (DTS) proofing applications, MUTOH will present the ValueJet 628MP 61cm (24”) roll-to-roll and ValueJet 1628MH 162cm (64”) hybrid printers with the MP31 eight-colour ink set (C, M, Y, K, Or, Gr, Bl, Wh). These inks offer a very wide colour gamut, precise colour reproduction and are extremely stretchable and shrinkable. A unique feature of MUTOH’s MP31 inks is their ability to print proofs directly onto the final production substrate.
