Minuteman Press Meadowdale has installed a Mutoh UV LED XPJ-661UF direct to object (DTO) printer, purchased from MIPS and facilitated through Altron Document Solutions.
The compact table top A2+ flatbed UV LED XPJ-661UF printer will fit into any regular office, home based business or small retail environment. The printer offers a print area of 483mm x 594mm and can be set up in either CMYK or CMYK + White + Varnish.
Applications include: phone covers, gifts, photo products, promotional items such as pens, lighters and USB sticks, souvenirs, awards, small signs, small series production or prototyping of packaging samples, decorative tiles, tins, boxes and much more.
‘I cannot imagine my shop without a UV printer,’ said Minuteman Press Meadowdale owner Graham Du Preez. ‘It gives you such an advantage, as far as print shops are concerned, as it broadens your product portfolio with the capability to print on most media or surfaces. The applications are almost endless, you’ve just got to stretch your imagination,’ he said
With the UV Mutoh printer, when collecting or placing orders, new and existing customers find that there are numerous other service offerings available at Minuteman Press Meadowdale. Du Preez also added that as most branding houses won’t brand only 10-30 items, the machine provides a big advantage as it is suited to small batch branding, giving the company a competitive advantage over other print service providers.
Du Preez is also pleased with the service from both parties, and said that the service support from MIPS is excellent. MIPS owner Craig Carstens spent 3-4 days with Du Preez commissioning the machine. ‘Most owners won’t do that, I really appreciate that,’ Du Preez said.
Du Preez said that the top three features of the machine are its vacuum bed (that enables UV DTF printing), ease of operation and automatic head height adjustment.
