Mimaki is giving students the unique opportunity to demonstrate their passion for print, live, at their stand at FESPA London, taking place from 25-29 June. The company’s stand at the expo will feature a special aquarium-themed area displaying student-designed images created during the show and produced on Mimaki printers.
The activation provides students with an opportunity to show their work and gives designers insight into how their ideas can be brought to life by a Mimaki printer.
Mimaki, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers which are exclusively distributed in Africa by Graphix Supply World, will be located at Stand J5S at the show.
‘At the previous FESPA in Barcelona, we initiated the Mimaki Nature Education Programme for school kids by sponsoring Pertama the Tiger at the Barcelona Zoo,’ said Mike Horsten, general manager marketing of Mimaki EMEA.
‘In London, we are giving three students the unique opportunity to demonstrate their passion for print, live. It is an opportunity to give special recognition to these talented young people, have some fun and educate the market on the possibilities offered by Mimaki wide-format printing. For those who cannot attend the show, we will be broadcasting the process live via the web.’
The live broadcast can be accessed at http://www.mimakieurope.com/fespa-movie/ during show hours. The glass aquarium at the stand will contain two Mimaki printers (CIV30-60 and UJF3042) for the exclusive use of the students, who will have access to a wide range of substrates, including textiles and other special materials. A different theme will be illustrated each day: aquarium, a 70’s living room, the future city, the English pub and the jungle of Pertama.
‘FESPA is a show dedicated to the imagination,’ said Horsten. ‘Visitors to the stand or viewers of the live broadcast will see imagination at work, with the endless creative possibilities enabled by the hard work of these talented individuals and the capabilities of the Mimaki portfolio of wide format printers.’
