Midcomp KZN will introduce the new Summa F series of digital cutters and routers at the Sign Africa Durban Expo, taking place from 18-19 March at the Durban ICC.
Large format digital cutters available in the market have either been quite expensive, or cheap and of a low quality. The new Summa F Series offers a perfect balance between price and quality and is ideal for medium-sized companies that want to expand their service offering and enter the flatbed print and cut market.
With the F Series, Summa has launched a completely new cutting product line based on 25 years of expertise building the world’s very best cutting plotters. These advanced engineered cutting tables, manufactured in Europe, are capable of cutting sheet and rigid materials as well as roll stock. Up to three tools can be inserted at one time on the multi module tool holder.
Changing tools is quick and easy. Automatic tool recognition, combined with digital and mechanical depth and or pressure control, insures precision cutting on a wide variety of materials. The F series base unit comes equipped with a drag module and Summa’s revolutionary optical camera marker recognition system for accurate contour cutting of printed flexible or rigid substrate materials. The compact footprint makes the F-Series perfect for smaller environments and the heavy duty construction and provides reliable performance.
Multiple material handling options ensure optimal workflow for roll, sheet and board material. Pneumatically driven media advance clamps hold the material down while pulling it forward in order to work continuously in panels or multiple jobs. The roll support with media flanges keeps the media aligned for correct loading. Thanks to the conveyor system, material is also fed while cutting through. The cutting area is: 1600mm x 1200mm and material thickness is 48mm.
