Midcomp was recently appointed a distributor for the new HP Pagewide XL series of printers. These printers will find homes in both the Graphics market or segment and also the Architectural, Engineering and Construction (AEC) as well as Geographical Information Systems (GIS) segments.
To maximise on its potential in these segments, Midcomp has formed a new subsidiary company called Midcomp Azero (Pty) Ltd and this company has merged with A Format Supplies CC, trading as Azero Avenue. The range of HP DesignJet printers and Pagewide Printers will be sold by Midcomp Azero. So with Midcomp, the holding company, and Midcomp Azero, this positions the Midcomp group as one of the largest large format solution providers in sub-Saharan Africa.
The merger was announced at the soft launch of the PageWide series at a customer event held at the Sign Africa Durban expo. Azero, which would have celebrated a decade in business during March, has branches in Gauteng, Free State and Northwest. Their focus has been to offer large format printing and scanning solutions and services to the engineering, mining and construction industries, so they will bring expertise in support and managed print solutions in these areas to the new partnership with Midcomp.
‘This is a fantastic opportunity to take our business to the next level,’ said Mariana Raath, owner of Azero.
‘Azero has always had strong ties to the mining and construction industries, and now Midcomp can offer these industries a wider range of solutions,’ said Rob Makinson, Managing Director of Midcomp.
