MetaCast® MDC, a premium cast digital film, featuring the handling MetaGlide® adhesive, and Metamark ClearVision perforated one-way window film, were used in a transport project.
Torbay Tigers fields basketball teams across age-groups in the South West and has been carrying the torch for its sport for about five decades now. Most of the teams are at, or around capacity, and there’s a steady queue of hopefuls waiting to join. It’s not lacking in enthusiasm or commitment and, thanks to its efforts, the sport is well and truly on the map.
Fixtures pepper the calendar and tour the country. The flip-side of that coin is there’s always someone needing to be somewhere, at some time, and there isn’t always an obliging dad or friend ready to step in and offer a lift. For those reasons and others, Torbay Tigers decided to get some transport and managed to land itself a suitable van at a price the club could afford.
It did the job, but it didn’t quite look the part.
Enter Exeter based FDS Graphics. FDS Graphics offered to make the van look like it meant business. The best way to big up a van, is to give it a loud and proud wrap. That’s just what FDS did.
Whether you are following the vehicle or it’s streaking past, there’s no doubt with whom it draws its associations. The Tigers’ motif is rendered large over the flanks and rear of the vehicle. It’s a blaze of stylised orange and white detail and it promotes the club’s name at full volume. Whether you are in the trade or not, you would call it a head turner.
FDS used MetaCast MDC for the job. The colours blaze and every recess is confidently covered and filled. It is a confident wrap and clearly the result of skilled inputs in design, production and application. The van’s windows are covered too using Metamark ClearVision. ClearVision gives those on the inside a view out but looks just like solid material to those admiring the stunning design from the outside. It also allows a pair of piercing stop-lights to blaze out of the tiger’s eyes when the brakes are applied in the vehicle.
Whether the wrapped van will do anything to enhance team performance or help basketball displace football in the arena of televised sports in the UK is up for debate.
