Swansea based Pro-Grafix and Valley Signs and Engraving joined forces and improved the view for some of Glangwili Hospital’s young guests. Pro-Grafix works regularly with the hospital. On this occasion it was to deal with some of the infrastructure, attending some onsite construction work and in particular building crew accommodation cabins that presented a less than flattering view out of the windows of a children’s ward opposite them.
The cabins couldn’t be moved out of sight so it was decided that they’d be wrapped in something the children would find a bit more engaging than the units’ blank exteriors. The team at Pro-Grafix prescribed just the thing: a montage of popular cartoon characters arranged into a colourful and memorable mural that would brighten up the view considerably.
Pro-Grafix got the go-ahead for its concept and worked with its near neighbour Valley Group to procure the images needed and the licences required. Pro-Grafix then set to work with the design and editing needed to make its winning mural fit the complex space available and Valley Group printed and laminated the graphics.
Installation fell to the team at Pro-Grafix and proceeded without a hitch thanks to the detailed upstream planning and the quality of the print production. Once applied, it was clear that the mural represented one of those jobs you want to stand back and admire. The splash of colour cheers up the view and brightens the day for all who see it.
MD-Class digital materials provided colours that pop and razor sharp resolution. Metamark ClearVision CV2 was used to provide the graphics’ continuity across the cabins’ windows without impeding the view for those inside the units.
