JG Electronics Showcasing Ghost White Toner At Sign Africa And FESPA Africa Expo

JG Electronics will showcase the new Ghost White Toner, a complete solution for product creation and personalisation such as T-shirt printing, mug printing and transfer to many other materials, at the upcoming Sign Africa and FESPA Africa Expo, taking place from 13-15 September at Gallagher Convention Centre.

The Ghost process encompasses a white toner cartridge and CMYK toners that are optimised for transfer printing. These toners can be fitted to a wide plethora of HP Laserjet printers, although for the South African launch, the HP 452 A4 printer has been chosen. A3 is next on the horizon again with an A3 HP printer.

The process is extremely simple. The artwork is printed onto the transfer media in CMYK, which results in blacks that are truly black and not a mix of colours as some other processes use, and once printed, the areas of the artwork where white is required, are turned to black and trimmed slightly (to make allowance for the printer’s offset – typically 0.5mm).

The black toner cartridge in the printer is replaced with the Ghost white toner cartridge and the media is then printed again. As the white cartridge is in the place of the black, white prints.

If there’s no black in the design, the white can be loaded immediately and anything that needs to be white can just be left as black in the design. This process is not just for transfers, but also works really well for regular paper and board prints.

Unlike more expensive technologies, no RIP is required. This solution has been tried and tested locally with the Forever range of transfer papers as well as on a wide range of products including metal, ceramics, plastics (such as pens), wood, glass and textiles with excellent results.

Entrance is free. For more information, and to pre-register online, please visit: http://www.signafricaexpo.com/landing-page/sign-africa-jhb/.
