Hitech Graphics provided Amber Bay Investments 71 (Pty) Ltd with its first Mutoh XPJ164SR PRO printer.

Since the purchase of the Mutoh XPJ164SR, we now have an output of 120 canvas prints per day, which has effectively reduced the waiting time compared to our previous machine as well.’
‘With the Mutoh XPJ164SR, we have effectively been able to double our production capacity. We have been able to achieve this by speeding up the lead time required to print orders to ensure that we are able to commit to our customers’ delivery within their time frame, and in some cases even sooner,’ said Soobramoney.
Soobramoney also said that the Mutoh XPJ164SR’s daily output quantity has enabled the business to take on more customer orders since they are confident that they can meet their customers’ demands on time and in full. He outlined numerous benefits of the product the machine produces, such as its relatively straightforward maintenance and simple machine service.
Although the machine prints at a high speed, the image quality is still high and the colours are vibrant. For mass image production, the take-up roll provides easy and fast handling.
With the VertiLith, Mutoh’s new RIP software, users will be able to optimise the output of their printers simply and easily. A number of tools and functions are included in VerteLith to help users create high-quality, textured prints without complicated processes.
In addition to its user-friendly interface, the software provides many profiles to produce the highest quality picture with vibrant colour and smoothness. A detailed description of ink consumption for every artwork is also provided, which helps with costing.
The system can also provide information on how much canvas is left in the roll, as well as whether the roll length is sufficient to complete an image. The application also gives the user an idea of the time it will take to print, which is an important part of production planning. Soobramoney also spoke about new markets the machine has opened for the business, ‘Due to the high efficiency of the Mutoh XPJ164SR, we were able to expand our range of printed canvas into furniture outlets with ease. A number of new pieces of artwork from local photographers have also been acquired to meet the needs of specific décor stores.’
