Graficomp has sold the first HP Latex 800W in South Africa. The client not only praised the machine for its capabilities, but also the professional service they received from Graficomp.
The HP Latex 800 with white ink is one of the latest printers in the HP Latex range. With its white ink capabilities and high speeds, Kuriti Training and Business Consultancy knew this would be the best solution for their growing business, and partnered with Graficomp to take them to the next level in printing.
‘Bizventures, a division of Kuriti Training and Business Consultancy, is located in the small town of Kuruman, Northern Cape and oversees all the advertising and marketing for the company. Large format signage is the most viable and popular form of advertising in Kuruman, so having the best printer makes the biggest difference in this market space,’ said Bruce Kuriti, managing director of Kuriti Training and Business Consultancy.
‘When Bizventures started in 2018, we had very little experience with large format printing, and all our staff required a lot of information and training on these products. But what differentiated us from all the other companies, was that, with no experience, we had the support and guidance from Graficomp to assist us with training, information and technical support,’ said Kuriti. ‘This was a big challenge for us but proved, in the end, to be a massive advantage for our company and community, as we were able to teach and provide our employees with skills and knowledge about large format printing. Our company has now employed 14 workers.’

The new HP Latex range consists of four devices: the HP Latex 700 and 800, and the HP Latex 700W and 800W, which offer white ink capability for the first time in this category. It is the whitest white ink available on the market that does not yellow over time, enabling print businesses to produce neater outlines and add more contrast to darker supports.
Meanwhile, updated printheads possessing more nozzles and producing speeds of up to 36sqm/hr allow the HP Latex 800 and 800W to offer 50% higher productivity levels compared to previous HP models. Print jobs executed on the new 700/800 series will deliver with vivid colours and finer image and text details, even at faster print speeds. Operationally, HP PrintOS also enables PSPs to monitor and control their print fleet using a cloud-based interface they can use virtually anywhere and anytime.
Recent HP research reveals that 85% of Print Service Provider customers now demand sustainable products and practices. To meet this requirement, the new Latex products continue to build on HP’s long-lasting commitment to sustainable printing. All four devices in the HP Latex 700 and 800 series use the HP Eco Carton – a cartridge made in part with cardboard material, reducing the amount of plastic used by 80%.
