Visual Exposure, a specialist in signage and Perspex manufacturing based in Centurion, installed an Aristo GL2032 cutter and a Fortune YF3220 flatbed printer, purchased from Fortune South Africa.
The cutter features a 3.2 x 2m working area, dragknife, variations of blades, creasing wheel and plotting pen to name a few, while the flatbed printer features a 3 x 2m working area and 8 printheads (double white and double CMYK).
Ronaldo Rautenbach, operations manager at Visual Exposure, expanded on the benefits of the machines: ‘We used to process 100 Correx boards in 2.5 hours, now with these machines we can do 100 A1 Correx boards in less than an hour, so it’s more than double the speed. We used to run one of our flatbeds 24 hours a day, Monday to Sunday, non-stop, but now we don’t even need a night shift anymore because the Fortune model is so quick. We have a full sheet ready in 2 minutes and 30 seconds. The cutter helps a lot as well with the bigger bed size, so we can do a lot more, quicker.’
Rautenbach also said that both machines allow the company to process larger sized jobs, particularly kiosks, pop-ups and ‘standees’ that are usually found in shopping malls. With the Rugby World Cup approaching, the company has been particularly busy.
‘The service from Fortune South Africa was great. They flew up from Cape Town to get us familiar with the machines, and offered support on how to use them,’ added Rautenbach.
