A heat press and vouchers were up for grabs for entrants who submitted the best original ’Graphics, Print and Sign’ themed T-shirt design for the Falcon T-shirt Design competition.
People could vote on social media for their favourite design, as well as on the Falcon stand at the Graphics, Print and Sign expo, held at Emperors Palace Convention Centre, from 5-7 October. The expo was sponsored by Platinum Sponsors Roland and Stixo Signage Supplies and supported by media partners Africa Print, Sign Africa and Modern Marketing.
The results were as follows:
First place: Elzana O’Kelly Kritzinger, who won a STAHLS’ Hot Berry heat press.
Second place: Kreeson Govindsamy, who won a R1500 voucher.
Third place: Amanda Steyn, who won a R1000 voucher.
‘I am overjoyed and never in a million years did I think I could go up against the best of the best and actually stand a chance. I am proud of myself and what I have accomplished so far, yet I am still humbled and I think everyone’s designs deserved to win,’ said O’Kelly Kritzinger. ‘I started designing in 2018 after leaving the corporate industry and discovering my talent as an artist and designer.’
‘This is my passion and has become my way of life. I started my small business, Faith Customs Design, and at first, I designed basic things such as wedding invitations. It has now grown to website and merchandise design for various clothing ranges.
‘I also do a lot of custom printed clothing and personalised sublimated items, however due to my business still growing and not having all the right equipment yet, I had to outsource most of my print work, but it is still all custom designed by myself. This is why the (heat press) prize means so much to me – it’s the start of bigger things.’
