Expand a Sign donated shirts, bags and banners to the Open Door Crisis Care Centre (ODCCC) ahead of their ‘Doors to Freedom’ walk from Durban to Johannesburg. Sixteen supporters of the ODCCC and 16 SAPS members will be walking from Durban to Johannesburg to raise awareness about the reality and brutality of human trafficking crimes within the South African context.

The walk will commence on 2 May with a send-off ceremony at the Durban City Hall steps at 06h00 with a short address by the eThekwini Municipality, SAPS, ODCCC and The Human Trafficking Task Team. The walkers will be on the road for six days, stopping at Lions River, Winterton, Kestell, Tweeling and Deneysville before reaching Johannesburg where a message from the Mayor of Durban, Honourable James Nxumalo, will be handed over to the city of Johannesburg.

Kirsty Fonzari, Expand a Sign Marketing Manager said, ‘Expand a Sign are proud to support the Open Door Crisis Care Centre which offers much needed counselling and support to victims of physical and emotional abuse. Thora Mansfield and her team of devoted staff are an asset to our community and we share their dedication and commitment to creating awareness and putting a stop to human trafficking.’
