The opening of Evonik Acrylics Africa (EAA) Cape Town offices, along with a technical training facility, will extend the distribution and accessibility of the acrylic brand PLEXIGLAS to African consumers.
At an opening function at the new premises, customers had the opportunity to network with EAA staff and investigate the array of tools and equipment that forms part of the training facility. The offices feature elements such as custom manufactured lighting, planters, furniture and décor, all produced from PLEXIGLAS.
‘We take pride in our ability to advise customers on acrylic product selection, applications and working guidelines. With the increased brand presence for PLEXIGLAS in recent years came the realisation that there is a huge demand for focused technical training. We have the technical competence to improve the skill levels of our customers, help them grow their businesses, and service the market better,’ said Holger Morhart, general manager of Evonik Acrylics Africa.
Evonik’s technical training manager David van Eyk will be responsible for a series of ongoing training workshops at the new Cape Town premises and at different locations across Southern Africa, while newly appointed technical services representative Christallo Immelman takes on the role of sales and product support.
‘Skills development within the industries we serve is a key focus area for business development and we are proud of the technical competence of our staff,’ concluded Morhart. ‘We look forward to an exciting year working with our distribution partners and clients.’
