The InterTech Technology Awards honour technologies predicted to have a major transformational impact on the printing industry. The ultra-high-speed, single-pass EFI Reggiani Bolt press for digital textile printing is the very first textile printer to receive an InterTech Award.
The textile printer from EFI received the InterTech™ Technology Award from Printing United Alliance. Thanks to its cutting-edge printhead concept and high-performance ink delivery system for direct-to-textile printing, the 1.8m wide EFI Reggiani BOLT is the fastest digital textile printer available, delivering a top throughput speed of 90m (295 feet) per minute at a 600 x 600 dots per inch (dpi) resolution. To date, three Bolt printers have been installed, one in Italy and two in Pakistan, and one more installation is being finalised in Pakistan. In the first year Bolt printers were in operation, they produced more than 10 million linear metres of printed fabric, and to date they have printed more than 25 million linear metres worldwide. It represents a worldwide record amount of digital textile output coming from a single printing platform, reflecting the printer’s highly reliable operation in high-volume environments.
