EFI Showcased Wide-Format Solutions In Orlando

EFI demonstrated two production-level EFI™ Pro Series wide format printers designed to help print shops drive profits and growth. EFI also showcased its next-generation EFI Transform-TF digital LED thermoformable inks for more efficient, faster and lower cost production of thermoformed applications.

At ISA, which ran from April 10-12, EFI demonstrated the EFI Pro 30f true flatbed LED printer with a maximum print area of 304.8 x 203.2cm (120 x 80 inches), bleed printing, and speeds up to 198 square metres (2130 square feet) per hour. The printer offers superb image quality with CMYK plus white ink that comes standard and multilayer printing. Optional clear ink and Transform-TF LED-curable inks for thermoforming applications are also available.

The EFI Pro 16h hybrid flatbed/roll-fed LED printer that was on exhibit offers fast changeover between flexible and rigid substrates up to 165.1cm (65 inches) wide and superior image quality with CMYK plus white ink standard and multilayer printing for premium-margin jobs. Production-level printing up to 29 square metres (311 square feet) per hour enables faster job turns on a wide range of substrates for nearly limitless applications.

The 320cm (126 inch) EFI Pro 30h hybrid flatbed/roll-fed LED printer was in EFI partner Nazdar’s booth. EFI’s also showcased pan-faced signs and other thermoforming applications produced using direct digital printing and next-generation EFI Transform-TF LED-curable inks, reducing process steps and costs associated with screen printing and handing painting signs. EFI Transform-TF inks are formulated for first and second-surface interior and exterior, non-backlit and backlit applications where common thermoforming is specified.

Mark Goodearl, EFI’s Senior Ink Product Manager, presented an educational session ‘Beyond Printing: The Art and Impact of Sign and Display Graphics with Astonishing Applications and Impressive Capabilities’ in the Learning Lounge. This session took attendees on an insightful journey into the innovative possibilities of sign and display graphics and the spectrum of applications that redefine the industry landscape.
