Craftsigns completed illuminated sky-signage at Atterbury House (the former Shell House), one of Cape Town’s most iconic sites, for Samsung on 26 February. The project was handed over to a very satisfied client at a rooftop gathering.
Craftsigns designed, manufactured and installed the Samsung letters on all four elevations atop Atterbury House in record time. ‘This project was commissioned directly by the Samsung head-office in Seoul, South Korea, so we are extremely proud to have been entrusted by such an exacting client to help build their corporate message in Cape Town,’ said Adrian Wolman, founder of Craftsigns.
The Samsung lettering was manufactured from an aluminium structure clad with a flex-face, Cromadek sides and backing, all printed in the distinctive colours of the client using Craftsigns’ patented and unique stretchable ink and printing techniques which give signage manufactured by this leading signage manufacturer their outdoor durability and warranted lifespan. ‘We used Samsung LED’s for the illumination and with our special print techniques overcame the colour variation that is often visible during daytime versus night-time illumination with illuminated signage,’ added Wolman. The total electricity consumption is only 12 amps per side.
Craftsigns is no stranger to take corporate clients’ brand message to new dizzy heights having also done the manufacture and installation of the previous sky sign for its client FNB at the same site as well as having built and installed the sky sign for Absa on the adjacent Absa-building. ‘The Absa sign was installed more than 13 years ago and is still projecting their brand message after all these years almost as if it were a new sign. This is testament to the outdoor durability of signage manufactured by Craftsigns,’ said Wolman.
