Chemosol showed the screen printing process to visitors who were interested in the T shirt and screen printing process at the Sign Africa Nelspruit Expo at Emnotweni Arena.
Naveen Rajcomar, Sales Consultant at Chemosol, guided visitors through the following steps:
1. Use artwork designed with either CorelDRAW or free hand.
2. Separate colours and play them out as individual positives.
3. Burn the positive onto your screen. The light will then shine through your positive to harden the light-sensitive emulsion.
4. Remove the positive.
5. Wet your screen with normal running water, the design will start appearing.
6. Wash it with a little bit of pressure, then your full image will appear.
7. Leave the screen to dry and remember to block any pin-holes (unwanted spots).
8. Mask your screen with buff tape to prevent your T shirt from getting spoilt.
9. Clamp your screen to the machine in the required position.
10. Apply the ink that you want.
11. Use the squeegee to push the ink through the screen and onto your T shirt.
12. Use a flash dryer or heat gun to touch dry ink before inserting the T shirt into the heat-press.
13. Put the T shirt into the heat press.
14. Keep it there for 30 seconds at 160 degrees Celsius.
There you have it, a T shirt printed with your very own design!
