Johannesburg-based Caps of Class, a family-owned business, recently invested in the Mimaki CJV150-160 from Graphix Supply World (GSW).
‘We purchased the Mimaki CJV150-160 to get into the printing market as we have 18 years' promotional experience. We were in the embroidery business before we immigrated. After returning to South Africa, we decided to start the business to give our sons something to do. We pride ourselves on service and quality and we aim to make this a successful business and grow with market demands,’ said Natacha Brandt, co-owner of Caps of Class.
The Mimaki CJV150-160 is an integrated printer/cutter that provides high performance, creativity and versatility with vibrant ink types, including new Silver, Orange and Light Black, in a cost effective package for sign makers, display graphics professionals and print shops.
It comprises of versatile print and cut functions:
- The continuous register mark detection function enables the continuous cutting of a whole roll of media while simultaneously taking up unrolled media.
- The over-cut and corner-cut functions ensure clearly cut edges with no residues.
- The segment correction function facilitates precision cutting over longer-length prints.
- The cut-and-print function averts printing problems by cutting the media prior to printing.
‘We can do a variety of digital applications, wallpaper, decals, vinyls, wrapping etc. We also have a laser cutting business, so these two go hand-in-hand. The laser cutter has a bed size of 2.5 x 1.1m and we cut a wide variety of mediums, except metal and glass. We can also do engraving,’ Brandt concluded.
