Sandton based Beith Digital has expanded its offerings with the EFI VUTEk FabriVU 340 and HS100 Pro machines.
The company can now print directly onto polyester and four-way stretch fabric, carpet, and other more traditional soft signage materials to produce products such as Texflex and sharkfin banners, telescopics, gazebos, event bins, banner walls, A-frames, cubes and stage backdrops.
Beith Digital managing director Devyn Wagner explained, ‘Regarding the FabriVU, having only been in the large format digital space we saw a lot of opportunity with our existing clients needing soft signage. We knew the deadlines were just as bad and needed a machine that could perform as fast as our roll to roll LED machines.’
It was because of the positive experience Beith Digital had with its existing EFI printers that Wagner went for the VUTEk FabriVU. ‘EFI’s machines are robust and deliver consistently high quality throughout a run, and we knew the FabriVU was going to be as reliable as it is fast,’ he explained.
Previously, when a client needed soft signage, the company used an EFI VUTEk LED inkjet printer to print directly onto coated fabric, but that process had some limitations in terms of the types of fabrics Beith Digital could use.
The printer’s positive impact on business has been immediate. ‘We have already penetrated the soft signage market as well as the promotional items, flags and gazebos market, and we are seeing some good growth. We were getting 70% of our print business from existing clients, but now we are getting far more,’ said Wagner. ‘We expect to grow even further.’
’With the HS100, we were looking for a machine that could offer better quality and speeds than our current machines. We were losing a lot of business because of our limited quality (dpi) offering. We also needed to increase productivity on the sheet fed work and from our pleasurable experience we have had with EFI, it was a no-brainer.’
The HS100 has allowed Beith Digital to offer lenticular and glass printing, which it was not able to do previously. The company can now penetrate the packaging market because of its high-end resolution that meets industry standards.
