Agfa Graphics demonstrated a wide-format inkjet printing system, media, workflow and more at the CONSAC Imagemakers, a Sign Association of Canada’s National Tradeshow.
Show visitors saw the Anapurna M2540FB, which is designed for printing on rigid substrates. The six-colour plus white Anapurna M2540 FB features a powerful, two-zone vacuum bed for swift removal of finished prints and moving of heavy substrates, helping print service providers (PSPs) save time for greater overall efficiency.
With a maximum print speed of 44.96sqm/hr (484square feet/hr), the Anapurna M2540 FB can print on 21.08cm x 12.70cm (8.3″ x 5″) substrates up to 4.49cm (1.77″) thick. The system’s eleven retractable register pins simplify quick and accurate positioning, particularly when working on double-sided jobs.
The Anapurna M2540 FB can accommodate various applications, including niche output such as promotional goods and gifts, coasters and DVDs. The printer’s industrial design features ionizer elements to prevent the build-up of electrostatic charge on the media which can affect droplet control and subsequent precision ink lay-down. To protect the print-heads from hitting the media, shuttle safety sensors are positioned on both sides of the print carriage, thus eliminating unwanted strikes.
In addition to the Anapurna M2540 FB, attendees also saw the Kongsberg V24 cutting table that handles the widest range of materials and applications along with an assortment of Duratex Flexible Media.
