Midcomp Consumables Introduces New Environmentally Friendly Films

Midcomp Consumables has announced new ImagePerfect™ EverGreen solutions, a family of environmentally responsible print and signage films that offer sign makers and graphics producers worldwide one of the most environmentally responsible ranges of materials available in the market, without a premium cost.

ImagePerfect™ EG 95-501 White Gloss (FR) and ImagePerfect™ EG 95-502 Clear Gloss (FR) both incorporate a PVC-free film with an advanced, water-based, permanent adhesive. They are suitable for indoor and outdoor applications and have been created for digital printing on large format inkjet printers. They are compatible with latex and UV-cured inks.

Both films are an excellent alternative to Polymeric Vinyls suitable for a wide variety of indoor and medium-term outdoor applications on flat and slightly curved surfaces. They promote high levels of print quality, ensuring colourful images with vibrant area infills. The films are 100% PVC-free and equipped with an advanced, water-based adhesive that creates a strong final bond to ensure a secure, stable and durable finish.

The 100% recycled liner for both products are made from an FSC-certified base paper with a fossil-free LDPE coating that promotes excellent layflat. The core holders are made from 100% recycled, FSC-certified cardboard and 100% recycled LDPE. The cores are made from 100% recycled cardboard that are then 100% recyclable. The bags are made from 100% biodegradable polyethylene and the box is made from natural cardboard with no chemical bleaching that is sourced from FSC-certified plantations. Its unique design ensures strength and integrity without needing (plastic) closure tapes.

Users should make sure the films are completely dry before laminating. Both films are produced at the Eikon factory in the UK, using only European-sourced raw materials to minimise the CO2 footprint. For installation, the company recommends an application temperature of no less than 10°C.

As with other products within the PVC-free market space, IP EverGreen could manifest adhesive transfer (adhesive residue) upon removal of the film from the substrate. The levels of adhesive transfer could vary, depending on the installation substrate, but, in all cases, the adhesive transfer is easily removable with IP Surface Cleaner. It is recommended that a user sprays IP Surface Cleaner onto the adhesive residue and leaves it for 15 seconds. Remove the adhesive residue with a squeegee, spray the IP Surface Cleaner onto the substrate and wipe immediately with a clean cloth.
