Metamark Vinyl Used In Arena Project

Acres of Metamark MD5 were used by Dyson Signs in a refurbishment process. The results radiate the kind of quality that’s possible when an MD-Class Material is in the hands of an expert production team.

Metamark MD5 is a high performance grade polymeric calendered self-adhesive vinyl for printers using a whole range of inks

Dyson Signs was supplied with designs so that the Sheffield Arena could give some areas within it that were looking a little tired, something of a face-lift and refurbishment. Clearly, from a commercial point of view, refurbishing existing assets represents a considerable saving when compared to ripping stuff out and building back new. It’s much less disruptive too. Done well, refurbishment can give everything it touches a blush of the new and do so at a price everyone’s happy to pay.

Dyson Signs’ team got to grips with the sizeable project and, in characteristic fashion, managed it down to the smallest of details. Everything was surveyed, supplied design data adjusted to fit and production ensued. The work is expansive and the effect impressive. Dyson’s Signs’ work covers a considerable expanse of surfaces and, in so doing, transforms them.

Application is flawless but mention must be made of print quality too. Big fields of tightly controlled colour can go badly wrong with all sorts of unwelcome printing artefacts blighting the result if not done well. No such issues are in evidence with this project though.

The Sheffield Arena has some busy times ahead of it including the return, in 2022, of the hugely popular Britain’s Strongest Man event. When the crowded again pack in, they’ll discover a venue that looks like it has had a substantial overhaul.
