Canon has worked closely with Avery Dennison since the introduction of the Colorado 1650 roll-to-roll large format printer model, which features a flexible, yet very robust ink set. All output from the Colorado 1650 using UVgel 460 ink is now certified by the ICS Warranty Program, which guarantees quality and durability of its large format applications.
When combining UVgel 460 inks and Avery Dennison media and laminates, customers have the confidence that their printed applications will last up to eight years outdoors and up to 11 years indoors. The certification assures that vinyl applications printed on the Colorado 1650 meet defined high standards of quality and durability.
‘With UVgel technology, we have developed a disruptive concept that is combining the advantages of the traditional ink technologies such as eco-solvent, Latex and UV, into one unique ink set,’ said Dirk Brouns, Vice President Large Format Graphics at Canon Production Printing.
‘We are proud to receive the ICS Warranty from a respected brand as Avery Dennison, and we see our rapidly increasing installed base and the adaptation of UVgel as proof that it has become the industry benchmark for uncompromised quality and versatile output at high production speeds.’
Paul Roba, Avery Dennison’s OEM Relationship Manager commented: ‘With the Colorado 1650 printer and the UVgel 460 ink, we are excited to add a unique high-quality print production platform to our extensive ICS Warranty Program. We continue to provide thoroughly tested solutions to our print service providers, increasing confidence in graphic performance and identifying throughput improvement processes.’
