Avery Dennison, in partnership with Penanel Trading, held a vehicle wrapping training workshop from 19-20 June in Harare, Zimbabwe.
The workshop attracted over 50 graphic designers and applicators from the signage industry.
The training was facilitated by Avery Dennison technical marketing manager Sarel Kruger. The training was split into two sessions: theory and practical.
The main purpose was to equip clients with techniques on how to smartly and successfully handle the more difficult sections when wrapping vehicles, which include the bumpers and the bonnets.
Kruger gave the following vehicle wrapping tips:
• The workshop room should be dust-free.
• The vehicle should be clean. Clients were advised not to use alcohol or any other abrasive substance like thinners as it affects the adhesion of the vinyl.
• Resetting the vinyl’s memory and use of the heat gun to relax the vinyl in difficult areas, ensuring a long-lasting wrap job.
• Post-heating of the product 30 minutes after application is also important.
Attendees received an Avery Dennison certificate upon completion.
