Graficomp will showcase the new HP Latex L1500 3.2m wide printer at the Sign Africa and FESPA Africa expo, taking place at Gallagher Convention Centre from 13-15 September.
The L1500 is the latest of the generation 3 Latex printers with the following key features:
- Prints up to 45sqm/hour.
- Automatically prints double-sided backlit applications.
- Prints are dry and scratch resistant immediately after printing.
- Running costs are reduced with cost-effective five litre HP ink cartridges.
- Unattended printing with robust roll-to-roll design.
- Roll-to-freefall enables the prints in a long run to be cut and moved to finishing, while still printing the rest.
- Online slitter feature allows user to slit rollups to the exact required width while printing.
International representatives from Onyx Graphix software will also be on the stand to give demonstrations on the software’s capabilities.

Dahle rotary cutters and trimmers
Not all projects can be cut on standard size trimmers. For these applications, Dahle offers a range of large format cutters. These industrial sized cutters are designed to cut large amounts of paper with safety in mind. Depending on the model, the product offers self-sharpening blades, automatic clamps that hold work, and integrated stands.
SummaCut vinyl cutters
SummaCut is capable of reading registration marks for contour cutting; not only on standard materials but also on reflective, holographic or mirroring materials, as well as through the many different types of laminates being used today. The SummaCut features highly complex algorithms to compensate for any deformation of the print, using the world’s most reliable sensor technology; this makes SummaCut a winning contour cutter for any sign shop or printshop.
Emblem Easy-Tape
This is a transfer double-sided adhesive tape. The glue is based on acrylic dispersions and shows a high resistance against humidity, solvents and weather conditions after bonding. The thickness of the glue gives excellent adaptability and flexibility to different materials. It can be used for mounting EMBLEM banners and textiles and is ideal for connecting several panels or for seaming.
Emblem Platinum eyelet presses
The stable multi-functional eye-presses are for eyeing PVC banners and firm textiles. The construction units of the hand press are cut with a precision laser, which makes a modern and simple design possible. Due to the small clearance of the press stamp, plastic grommets can be processed in one step: punch and press. The Platinum Duo eyepress is delivered with a 12mm tool for plastic grommets. With other tools, it is possible to use EMBLEM metal grommets from 6,35 mm to 11mm.
Stock and Roll media holders
Stock and Roll is a solution for the storage and transport of heavy and large format rolls. The holders are compact, with a 60cm diameter base; a patented blocking system to fix the rolls; dedicated media identification on the carriage system and they offer mobility with its six high-performance wheels.
The company has also refurbished its demonstration centre, which now houses the HP Latex 110 1.3m printer, which produces multiple applications like vinyl, stickers, posters, canvases, and POPs. Prints also come out completely dry, allowing same-day delivery. The HP Latex 570 is also on display. The printer allows users to load rolls in one minute or less with the spindle-less pivot table and skew automatic adjustment, runs unattended and produces highly saturated prints with up to 50% more ink density using vivid print modes.
The demonstration centre also features Stock and Roll media holders, Emblem eyelet presses and more. Customers are invited to test their media on, or view, the machines, by appointment.
