Canon Europe has launched the Océ ColorWave 500 large format printing system based on its proven, award-winning Océ CrystalPoint technology.
The printing system is ideal for both small workgroups looking for a cost-effective walk-up system as well as for central operations needing high productivity for generating CAD, GIS and colour graphics applications. With the ability to produce up to 225 A1/D-size black and white or colour prints-per-hour, the new Océ ColorWave® 500 large format printing system is designed to be the most productive walk-up ever. The system comes with secure cloud connectivity and a Windows 8 embedded controller, making the system a perfect fit for government and corporate environments with multiple users.
Denise Gustavson, editorial director, MyPRINTResource at Cygnus Business Media said, ‘The new Océ ColorWave 500 will enhance the overall walk-up user experience with refined efficiency and ease of use that was created with the customer in mind. With a focus on giving multiple users the ability to operate print, copy and scan functionalities, the print system will prove invaluable for companies both large and small. This new system is a cost saver as well, and will only lead to advanced productivity and streamlined efficiency.’
‘Our customers are demanding more flexibility and colour capabilities from their printing devices. Based on this market demand, we have once again advanced our core large format printing capabilities to help our users become more competitive,’ said Junichi Yoshitake, senior vice president and general manager, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc. The Océ ColorWave 500 system offers a unique combination of black and white and colour printing in a single compact walk-up system that works like a tablet. It’s designed to help people work as efficiently and effectively as possible in today’s fast-paced business world.’
The Océ ColorWave 500 system is built for speed, allowing multiple users to simultaneously print, copy and scan without sacrificing productivity or quality. The printing system quickly processes large and complex files, handling CAD, GIS and full colour graphics with speed. Up to four online media rolls are available to accommodate large volumes and sets, multiple document sizes and different media types without interruption. Prints come out dry, cut-to-size and ready-to-use.
Being able to send files to the printer from virtually any location can give professionals a big advantage when time is tight and deadlines are looming. The Océ ClearConnect software suite provides more flexible ways to submit files to the printer. Users can print from their desktop via Océ Publisher Select and Océ Direct Print software to manage complex document sets. Or they can print via mobile device or directly from a secure cloud connection.
There is no need to waste time training users on a complicated system thanks to the Océ ClearConnect interface. It works like a tablet so the learning curve is low. The simple layout, intuitive operation and detailed preview functions help users get their prints faster, with fewer errors. Everything from media roll placement and toner loading to print job management has been carefully designed to be ergonomically correct and intuitive.
To help office workers spend more time on what’s important and less time handling documents, this system offers many time-saving features. The Automatic Print Assistant automatically selects the print mode, image position and best fit media roll to save time. Prints can be organised in a Personal Smart Inbox so users can quickly select what’s needed at the system. Changing media rolls is easy thanks to the built-in loading station. When paper is fed into the machine, media width is automatically detected to reduce errors.
The Océ-patented, CrystalPoint technology ensures robust, water-fast prints with sharp lines, high readability of fine details and smooth, even area fills. The high-quality prints, which are consistent over time and on different machines, have a unique silk-shine look and feel, independent of the type of media used.
