First-time sponsor of Art Miami, Canon, demonstrated its range of printing solutions for the fine arts industry at Context and Art Miami 2013 fairs which were held from 3–8 of December 2013 at the Midtown Miami complex.
At the Canon booth, award-winning photographer Robert Farber demonstrated a collage of his most impressive images and shared insights and personal experiences on working with the output devices. Show attendees interacted with Canon’s latest artistic printing solutions, including the imagePROGRAF iPF6450 printer, which features enhanced colour management capabilities and the PIXMA PRO-1 printer, a powerful, high-quality professional inkjet printer that produces stunning colour prints and dynamic black-and-white images.
Photographer Robert Farber said, ‘As photographers, we look to tell a story or convey a message through the power of an image. Canon’s imagePROGRAF and PIXMA PRO printers help showcase this story by delivering high-quality, archival imaging capabilities and creative applications that can enhance moments we’ve captured through our lens. I’m looking forward to engaging with other professionals at Art Miami to hear some of their latest inspirations and discuss the potential that lies with Canon’s fine art printers.’
Designed for professionals in the graphic, fine art and photography markets, the imagePROGRAF iPF6450 printer features Canon’s Lucia ex pigment ink set, a system that produces a dynamic colour spectrum while providing better scratch resistance and smoother gradations from previous models.
The new multi-sensor included with this printer provides outstanding colour-density detection and allows for full calibration. In addition, the Colour Calibration Management Console equipped in this devices, allows users to easily execute and monitor the calibration status of multiple printers on a network from one PC.
Taking print quality and accuracy to a whole new level, Canon’s PIXMA PRO-1 printer delivers stunning, high-quality output thanks to its 12-ink system, five of which are monochrome. The Fine print head helps to deliver consistent, superb results that professional photographers demand.
These 12 inks increase the colour gamut in all directions so colour prints are rich and dynamic, while black-and-white images register depth and dramatic expression. Additionally, skin-tone reproduction has been improved to provide a more natural look, eliminating the magenta cast occasionally found when printing portraits.
