Antalis held its 2012 Art of Design Awards ceremony, which rewards Graphic Designers for originality and design excellence with a particular focus on the creative use of paper and which aims to inspire thinking, big ideas,
paper usage and beautiful presentation, on 6 September at Turbine Hall in Johannesburg.
Oliver Barstow from Fourthwall Books won the Grand Prix prize of a trip to New York worth R50000 for his Fire Walker Book entry.
Jean François Porchez, who hails from France and is Founder of Typofonderie, was the guest speaker at the event. Michael Mol from Top Billing served as MC.
Antalis believes it is their calling to motivate designers to consider their paper choice even before they begin designing and think about how it can enhance their creative process. That’s why it launched the Art of Design
Awards over 26 years ago.
Antalis received 474 entries in the seven commercial categories and 89 entries in the student category.
