3A Composites will demonstrate the sustainable printing substrates Dispa, Lumex A and Smart-X. The core markets include direct-to-substrate digital printing and screen printing, exhibition, shop and furniture design, signage as well as POS/POP applications.
The company will demonstrate these products at this year’s FESPA Global Print Expo in Munich from 14-17 May. 3A attaches the highest importance to sustainability in its production processes and environmentally compliant materials. Dispa is made of 100% FSC-certified paper (FSC C127595). The FSC label is a clear indicator that the paper layers come from responsible forest management. The unique structure of embossed formed paper gives it strength and rigidity and therefore Dispa is the perfect solution for short term promotional campaigns. The bright white and smooth surface delivers excellent printing results.
Lumex A are premium quality amorphous polyethylene terephthalate (A-PET) sheets. They are ideally suited to flat and cold bending applications. Lumex A shows extremely good printability with UV curing inks and is fire rated ‘difficult-to-ignite (B-s1,d0 according to EN 13501-1) as well as suitable for use in the food industry. Lumex A sheets offer a unique combination of ideal properties and occupy an unrivalled ecological position amongst fully transparent and translucent sheet materials. Lumex A sheets are 100% recyclable within their own waste category 1 (PET).
Smart-X is a lightweight, all-plastic sheet material with surfaces of UV and weather resistant solid polystyrene (HIPS) and a core of expanded polystyrene that is completely moisture-resistant. These characteristics make Smart-X the lightweight foam board ideal for external applications without any significant change in colour for a period of up to two years. The refined surface structure delivers ideal printing results in digital printing. On top of that, Smart-X is a mono-material composite made from 100% polystyrene (no adhesive between core and cover layers) and is therefore 100% recyclable.
The company will also present the well-known printing substrates Dibond (aluminium composite panel), Forex and Foamalite (rigid PVC foam sheets) as well as Kapa (lightweight foam boards with a polyurethane foam core). The different materials will be directly integrated in the booth construction.
Upcoming FESPA events include FESPA Africa, the region’s largest, focused exhibition for wide format digital printing, screen printing, garment decoration and textile printing, which is co-located with Sign Africa and Africa Print, the region’s leading events for the signage industry. The event is taking place from 11-13 September 2019 at Gallagher Convention Centre, Johannesburg.
