Wired4Signs showcased the new Mean Well Power Supply at the Cape Town Sign Africa Expo (2-3 September 2015, CTICC).
The Mean Well HLG family (9 series between 40W and 320W) has been extensively employed in all categories of LED lighting applications since it was released to the market. In order to fulfill the demand for higher wattage power supplies for the larger scale fixtures in the LED luminaire market, Mean Well announced the new 600W series ~HLG-600H.
Like all of the current HLG series, this series accepts 90~305VAC full range input and provides nine models with different nominal DC output voltages between 12V and 54V that LED lighting applications most frequently used. With the aluminium case and the fully potted silicone, HLG-600H features the IP65/67 high protection level, the 5G anti-vibration capability, and the industrial-level immunity against the instantaneous surge up to 4kV that allow the series to work in various kinds of indoor or outdoor, highly dusty, highly moist, and highly vibrating harsh environment.
HLG-600H series exploits the leading edge high performance circuit design. The working efficiency is up to 96% which tops the industry, and this series is thus able to work between -40 and +70 degree Celsius ambient temperature by air convection cooling. Function wise, HLG-600H offers two types of models (A/B-Type): A-Type is equipped with the internal potentiometers enabling the output current to be adjusted 50~100% and the output voltage 85~105%, respectively; B-type is equipped with the built-in 3 in 1 dimming function (0~10Vdc, PWM signal, or resistance).
Other functions consist of short circuit protection, over current protection, over voltage protection, over temperature protection, the built-in 5V/0.5A standby power, the built-in remote control, the less-than 0.5W no load power consumption at remote-off, and etc. This series is certified with UL/CUL/ENEC/CB/CE lighting regulations, including UL8750 and ENEC EN61347-2-13. Suitable applications comprise LED street lighting, LED high bay lighting, parking lot lighting, LED searchlight, LED fishing lamps, and so forth.
