3M South Africa will launch the new VHB Tape GPH series as well as showcase the latest Wrap Film Series 1080 and Print Wrap Film IJ180mC-10 and IJ180mC-120 at the Sign Africa and FESPA Africa Expo. The event is taking place from 13-15 September at Gallagher Convention Centre.
The VHB Tape GPH series is a permanent bonding solution that can replace traditional mechanical fasteners and liquid adhesives in challenging, high temperature applications. It uses a conformable, acrylic foam core to provide a good balance of strength and conformability.
The new series helps break the barriers of traditional construction elements. It adheres instantly with high initial tack on a broad range of substrates like: metal, glass, ABS plastics, rigid PVC, and polycarbonate. Application possibilities are almost endless, and users can design projects with total freedom.
The series has excellent temperature resistance and works under severe conditions. It combines high temperature resistance, and multi material bonding. Its strong bond to metals, combined with a short term temperature resistance of up to +230 degrees Celsius, make it ideal for permanent bonding even in tough high temperature applications like powder coat or liquid painting.

The trio of colour flip shades, Electric Wave, Caribbean Shimmer and Glacial Frost, exhibit lively polychromatic effects that create unique, multi-colour dimensions that shift under different viewing angles and lighting. These iridescent films refract vibrant hues of purple, deep teal and soft blue, creating an invigorating prismatic finish for fresh new vehicle wraps and graphics.
The series is made in 152,4cm (60”)-wide rolls, so installers can easily cover vehicle sections without seams. The new colour flip options possess excellent dimensional stability, repositionability, high durability, and permanent adhesive. Finally, backing by the 3M MCS Warranty gives installers confidence that the films will live up to their guarantees.
Print Wrap Film IJ180mC-10 and IJ180mC-120
IJ180mC-10 is a dependable print film fine-tuned for wraps while IJ180mC-120 is the first printable metallic wrap film to give vehicles an attention-grabbing finish. Both films have Comply™ Adhesive with micro technology, which provides excellent air release for smooth results. They also feature slideability and initial tack, they stretch 130% without primer, will not lift and have excellent liner release.
